HSUPA及HSPA+
While pushing forward the development of TD-HSDPA technology, Datang Mobile actively carries out research on the enhanced uplink technologies such as TD-HSUPA and TD-HSPA+. TD-HSUPA further enhances the uplink speed of TD-HSDPA, while TD-HSPA+ can further accelerate the rate of TD-SCDMA.
HSUPA:
Since the application of HSDPA technology may substantially increase data transfer rate and throughput of the downlink, standard organizations such as 3GPP and CCSA carry out further research on the enhanced uplink technologies so as to meet the demand on even higher uplink speed for service development. The industry customarily calls the technology as high-speed uplink packet access (HSUPA), which employs enhanced technologies including Node B fast scheduling, HARQ and AMC to boost the speed and throughput of the uplink and reduce transfer delay.
TD-SCDMA HSUPA standard has been formulated in 3GPP, which defined the role of the technologies above in enhancing TD-SCDMA uplink communication capability.
HSPA+:
3GPP HSPA+ enhances radio technologies, signaling and system framework on the basis of current HSPA technology. In comparison with HSPA system, HSPA+ employs technologies such as MIMO and HOM, which has brought remarkable improvement on the transfer rate and throughput of HSPA system.
Datang Mobile is actively carrying out pre-research on HSUPA and HSPA+ and the functions will be achieved in 2008.
The enhanced technology will equip TD-SCDMA with capabilities for sustainable development and long-term competitiveness. TDD system’s features are more suitable to bear mobile broadband service, so we have every reason to believe that TD-SCDMA and its evolving technologies will remain to be the mainstream communication standards internationally.
