RNC’s main functions include radio resource control, mobile call processing, handover, power control, mobility management and so on. TDR3000 is a large-capacity product of Datang Mobile’s TD-SCDMA RNC product series. It is based on the open ATCA architecture standard hardware platform and employs the technology of IP switch, separation between control interface switch and service interface switch , distributed processing and so on. Datang Mobile owns many essential patents on radio resource management and completely enhances network quality by utilizing the unique radio resource management algorithm of TD-SCDMA.

■ Based on the open ATCA architecture standard hardware platform, Datang Mobile employs IP switch technology, and uses methods such as separation between control-tier exchange and service-tier exchange, distributed processing, etc. The system therefore enjoys larger capacity, better modularization and higher stability.
■ Utilize the mode of piling modules to achieve the smooth expansion of system capacity without impacting current services. Capacity expansion of both control-tier and user-tier could be implemented independently.
■ On networking perspective, it supports Node B star-mode and chain-mode connection to meet all different demands.
■ Carrier-class reliability
→ 1+1 or N+P backup of major components and software can ensure system reliability by real-time monitoring and control and data redundancy backup.
■ Support a variety of services, including services specified by 3GPP and ITU, and HSDPA; it owns powerful packet service processing capability and supports linear enhancement in packet data processing capability (a maximum of 3.6Gbps) by increasing the number of data service processing panels.
■ RNC is based on distributed architecture, enjoys high scalability as well as supports software online patching and remote maintenance & upgrade.
■ Support all kinds of interfaces, including non-channelized ATM STM-1, channelized STM-1, IMA E1, FE, GE and STM-1 POS.
